Waiting [cut] ABOUT THIS TAPE The exact origins of this tape are a bit murky, but according to the person who helped make the original transfer, of this tape: "[The source cassette tape was] entitled 'Adore B-Sides' and listed a corresponding tracklist by [Billy Corgan's] own hand. Take that as you will - the claimed origin is 1999, with a late 2000 confirmation. What effect this has on the recording history, I know not. My presumption is accretion for Judas compilation. But that is my extrapolation, and bears no further facts than those submitted above. "Some of these tracks are most definitely alternate mixes - the most salient will be apparent." Some of these songs can be found on the first Adore Demos tape. Others were on the "Judas O" bonus disc from when Rotten Apples was first released. There's even a couple of tracks from the Machina Acoustic Demos (Love and Let Me Give the World to You). Still others were entirely unreleased until now. In the tradition of past tapes that came from Billy, songs get cut off at the end of each side. Cross appeared to be nearing the end when it cuts off, but Waiting is only a minute and a half in when it ends abruptly (perhaps no big loss, as it did see official release). ABOUT THE AUDIO RESTORATION The tape was encoded digitally and released on the internet over several months in 2007, along with a pre-Siamese Dream demo tape titled "Quiet and Other Songs." The audio quality of the Adore Demos II leaved a lot to be desired, with frequent static bursts and overmodulation, particularly whenever Billy sang. Said the tape's leaker: "For the less than optimal quality of the tracks, all I can do is apologize and assure you that, given the circumstances under which they required transfer, we did the best we could. Given the option between lower quality or zero quantity, I chose lower quality. I hope that was the right choice." A well-known member of the SP online community and total audiophile, StArSeEd, stepped up to the task of cleaning the audio up. I don't know the exact details as to how he did it, but trust me, the quality was improved immensely. These files were encoded to -V2 from StArSeEd's distributed FLAC files.
